DV Open Version 1.1 (c) 1990-1991 Michael D. Weaver.
DESQview is a trademark of Quarterdeck Office Systems.
Please follow the following steps to install DV Open on your system:
1) Create a subdirectory on your hard drive for the DV Open
distribution files and copy them there. A good name for this
subdirectory might be c:\dv\dvopen or something similar.
2) Place a line in your autoexec.bat file so that your system will load
the DVTXDI TSR before DESQview. For DVTXDI to work, you must have
DESQview version 2.26 or later, and as DV Open requires DVTXDI, you
cannot use this program at all with earlier version of DESQview. You
also need DOS 3.1 or higher - for more details on DVTXDI, refer to the
DVTXDI.DOC file in the distributed DVTXDI.ZIP archive. After you change
your autoexec.bat file you need to reboot your machine to make DVTXDI
active.
3) Bring up DESQview's Open menu, select AP for Add a Program, select O
for 'Other', key in the path to the subdirectory where you placed the DV
Open files, select both displayed entries (DVO: Help/Tutorial and DVO:
Example) with your space bar, then hit Enter to add the programs. If
you already have applications with the X0 or OH keys, you may have to
change the Open menu key assignments.
4) If your DESQview directory is not C:\DV and/or your DV Open
directory is not C:\DV\DVOPEN, you need to use DESQview's Change a
Program to modify the Program: and Directory: entries of the X0
application accordingly. The Program: field must specify the full path
to DVO.COM, while the Directory: field must contain the full path to
your DESQview directory (where DESQview keeps all its .DVP files).
5) To get started with DV Open, bring up DESQview's Open Menu and
select the OH application.
Enjoy!
